Chocolate Chip Meringues


Made first by Maleesa then by Brita, these melt-“inyo”-mouth meringues are easy to make and get rave reviews! By request, the recipie is coming soon!


Recipe adapted from Better Homes and Gardens “The Ultimate Cookie Book”:


2 egg whites

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/8 tsp cream of tartar

2/3 cup sugar

2/3 cup chopped semisweet chocolate


1) Let egg whites come to room temperature (about 30 minutes). Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Lightly grease a cookie sheet.

2) Add vanilla and cream of tartar to egg whites. Beat until soft peaks form. Add sugar gradually and beat until stiff peaks form. Fold in the chocolate.

3) Drop by rounded spoonfuls into sheet. Bake about 20 minutes or until meringues are firm and bottoms are light brown.
