Turkey Burgers

I’m about to give you one of my brainchildren. Treasure it. –E

I now present to you, for the first time on paper, EV Turkey Burgers.

To a large bowl add:

11/2 pounds ground turkey

2-4 garlic gloves minced

3/4 a cup finely chopped onion (approximately half a large onion)

2/3 cup finely chopped red bell pepper (approximately 3/4 of the pepper)

1/4 cup shredded carrot

2 cups loosely packed fresh spinach finely chopped

1/3 cup oats

1/3 teriyaki sauce (I use Trader Joe’s Island Soyaki or Mr. Yoshidas)

2 teaspoons brown sugar

Combine all the above together with your hands. (If the mixture is too dry, add more teriyaki sauce.  Too wet? Add more oats.) Form mixture into patties. Cook approximately 4 minutes aside on medium high heat in a large non-stick skillet. Be sure to turn burgers frequently to prevent burning. You can stop here and serve these tasty burgers with some brown rice and veggies or you can pull out all the stops and create the ultimate TB. Served in between two mini-pitas smothered in honey-balsamic dressing*** alongside sweet potato fries.
