fancy fondue for finals week!

This fondue from Trader Joe’s is FANTASTIC.  It is so easy; you can make it in a microwave if you don’t have a fondue pot.  And it tastes authentic.  One package serves three hungry cheese lover or four moderate appetites. For dessert, unfortunately, you are on your own.  I used chocolate chips for my dessert fondue melted in a homemade double boiler.

Cheese Fondue Course:

1 package Trader Joe’s Fondue

1 freshly baked large baguette cut into cubes

2 sliced granny smith apples

1 bag mixed fresh vegetables

Step one– cut bread, apples, veggies into bite sized pieces.

Step two– microwave fondue.

Step three– devour.

Chocolate Fondue Course:

1 basket ripe strawberries

2 bananas

1 package mini pretzels

also good: rice krispie treats, marshmallows, pound cake, etc.

Step one– slice strawberries and bananas into bite sized pieces.

Step two– melt chocolate in a double boiler (or in the microwave if you are brave).

Step three– devour.

Fondue is so easy but makes a fun and impressive lunch or dinner.  Enjoy this elegant meal with your friends accompanied by the appropriate wine pairing if you are an adult.
