Mint Chocolate Sparkly Pretzels

These guys are soo addicting. BEWARE.

Ingredients:

1/2 bag mini pretzels (leftover from fondue)
1/2 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips (also leftover from fondue)
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract (NOT mint)
Red and Green sugar sprinkles
Parchment or Wax paper
1 ziplock bag

Directions:

Arrange pretzels on a large piece of parchment paper. Melt chocolate in a double boiler.  When the chocolate is melted remove it from the heat and stir in the peppermint extract.  Have a friend (like my talented roommate Maleesa) hold the ziplock bag open while you use a spatula to get all the chocolate into one corner of the ziplock bag.  Seal the bag and cut a small piece of the corner off.  Drizzle the chocolate evenly over all the pretzels.  Before the chocolate hardens and dries, add your holiday sprinkles.  Put the pretzels in the freezer for a few minutes so the chocolate hardens and they can be stacked and stored.  I kept my finished pretzels in a tupperware container in the fridge to keep the chocolate from melting and sticking together in my warm apartment but you could probably leave them on the counter as well.

If you are nice enough to share these with your friends, a bunch of pretzels in a festive cellophane bag would make a pretty gift or arrange them on a plate to bring to a party.  But I will understand if you are greedy.
